5 Things You Didn’t Know We Could Engrave — But Totally Can

Let’s bust a myth real quick: laser engraving isn’t just for wine glasses and cutting boards. At One Foot Engrave, we like to get a little weird — in the best possible way.

If you can hold it still and it won’t catch fire (usually), we can probably engrave it. Here are five unexpected things we’ve engraved — and yes, they turned out awesome.

🔥 1. Marshmallows

Yes, actual marshmallows. Because branding a bag of sugar with fire is just poetic. We laser toasted a bunch for a local event, and the reactions were a mix of awe and “can I eat this?” (Yes. But fast.)

🍡 Bonus: Great for weddings, party favors, or weird flexes at a campfire.

👟 2. Sneakers

Laser engraving on leather or suede shoes? Totally doable. Custom kicks are the ultimate wearable statement piece, and we’ve done everything from initials to flames to full-on logos.

💬 “Walking advertisement” just got real.

🪨 3. Slate, Rocks, and Tile

Flat, durable, and dramatic — slate coasters, stone tiles, and even river rocks can be laser etched for a permanent, weatherproof design. Perfect for house numbers, memorial pieces, or your dog's name on a rock (because why not?).

🧊 4. Painted Metal (Flasks, Tumblers, Tags)

Metal? Not always. Painted metal? Absolutely. Diode lasers can remove surface coatings on things like anodized aluminum, powder-coated flasks, metal business cards, dog tags, and more.

🧱 Fun fact: laser-engraved bricks are often more durable than painted ones.

💡 5. Weird Wood Cuts

Not all wood is created equal. We’ve engraved onto bent wood, live edge slabs, plywood puzzle pieces, and even reclaimed lumber. If it has character, we can make it cooler (and probably add a skull).

🛠️ So, What Can’t You Engrave?

Honestly? Not much. We won’t engrave anything illegal, alive, or currently on fire. Otherwise, ask us. We love a challenge.

If you’ve got an odd object and a bold idea, hit us up. We’ll tell you if we can burn something awesome into it (nicely).
